About City And County of Honolulu

The objectives of the Community Assistance Division (CAD) are to provide rental assistance to eligible low-income families; preserve decent, safe, and sanitary housing for low, moderate, and gap-group income households; and assist lower and gap-group income families to achieve homeownership. In additional to rental assistance, CAD provides Rehabilitation Home Loans to for Low/Moderate Income Homeowners.

The City and County of Honolulu rental assistance waitlist is closed at this time. When the waitlist is reopened, there will be newspaper and website announcements. Regarding the last waitlist opening: 3,100 applications were randomly selected out of more than 14,300 pre-applications by the computer system. If you were selected, your status will display "ACTIVE". If you were not selected, then your status will display "INACTIVE" and you will need to reapply when the waitlist opens again. As of this time, there have been no announcements for when the waitlist will open again. You will receive a letter or email in a few days about your status. If your status is "ACTIVE" the letter or email will explain what to expect. You can check your status at http://www.waitlistcheck.com. The system will only ask for your Social Security number and birth year to log in.
